Bhagwant Mann clearly stated that he will not appear as a Chief Minister, but as a humble Sikh. He said he would walk barefoot to present himself before Sri Akal Takht Sahib, showing complete devotion and respect. His words reflected strong belief in Sikh traditions and values.

The Chief Minister also mentioned January 15, when the Honorable President of India is scheduled to attend a conference at Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. He expressed regret and sought forgiveness for any inconvenience caused, explaining that for him, nothing is greater than Sri Akal Takht Sahib and its sacred authority.

Bhagwant Mann emphasized that Sri Akal Takht Sahib has always been, and will always remain, above all positions, responsibilities, and political power. He said that his faith in the institution is firm and unshakable.

This statement has drawn attention across Punjab, highlighting the Chief Minister’s attempt to place religious respect and humility above political identity.
