Jagjit Singh Dallewal, the state president of Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) Sidhupur, addressed a gathering of farmers in Chhatiana village today, reaffirming the steadfastness of the ongoing farmer movement. He emphasized that until the farmers’ demands are met, the movement against the government will persist.
In an emotional plea, Dallewal honored the sacrifices of farmers who lost their lives during the movement, vowing that their martyrdom would not be in vain. He urged farmers to remain vigilant against misleading influences and encouraged greater participation in the movement.
Dallewal highlighted recent victories against government policies detrimental to farmers, such as the withdrawal of plans to procure wheat from corporate entities instead of government markets, a decision reversed due to farmers’ opposition. Additionally, he cautioned farmers against the dangers of substance abuse, urging them to prioritize their well-being and the integrity of the movement.
As the farmer agitation continues to gain momentum, Dallewal’s impassioned address underscores the resilience and determination of the agricultural community in their struggle for justice and fair treatment.
