Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta was allegedly attacked on Wednesday morning at her official residence in Civil Lines during a weekly ‘Jan Sunwai’ (public hearing) program.
Incident Details
According to BJP leaders, a man around 35 years old first handed over some papers to the Chief Minister during the hearing and then allegedly attacked her. The shocking incident created chaos at the venue. Security officials quickly overpowered the accused and handed him over to the police.
Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva strongly condemned the incident, calling it an attack on democracy. He said that such acts during a public hearing raise serious questions about the safety of elected representatives.
