In a surprising turn of events, Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator Banwarilal Purohit announced his resignation last month, citing personal reasons. However, despite his decision to step down, he has been asked to continue working for the time being. Addressing the media, Mr. Purohit shed light on various initiatives undertaken during his tenure as Chandigarh Administrator.

When questioned about the specifics behind his resignation, he revealed, “I have sent the resignation, but they are not leaving me and have asked me to continue working.” The reasons disclosed for his resignation were attributed solely to family and personal matters. Mr. Purohit elaborated, “My wife came here from Nagpur but went back after 10 days. My family is reminding me.”
