At least 15 people, mostly women and children, were killed in Israeli airstrikes in Gaza last night, according to local health officials. The attacks targeted tents in the southern city of Khan Younis, as reported by Nasser Hospital. Among the victims were two children and their parents. In another strike on Gaza City, a man and his child were killed. Additionally, seven more people lost their lives in other areas of Gaza.

The Israeli military stated it aims to target only terrorists and avoid civilian harm. It blamed Hamas for civilian deaths, saying militants are hiding in densely populated areas. However, Israel has not issued any official comment on the most recent strikes.

Since March, Israel has resumed attacks after breaking a ceasefire, saying pressure is needed to force Hamas to release hostages. During the short-lived ceasefire, over 30 Israeli hostages were released. In its military strategy, Israel has also completely blocked food, medicine, and other essential supplies from entering Gaza for more than 10 weeks. It claims this is part of efforts to weaken Hamas.

The United Nations and aid groups warn that food shortages in Gaza are worsening, and many people are now suffering from hunger and malnutrition. Humanitarian groups are calling for immediate access to provide aid.

Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump is set to visit Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates this week as part of his tour of the Middle East. However, he will not be visiting Israel during this trip. Trump’s administration has continued to show strong support for Israel throughout the ongoing conflict.

The situation in Gaza remains tense and tragic, with civilians facing daily danger, shortages of basic needs, and little hope for peace in the near future.
