Mumbai Indians defeated Lucknow Super Giants by 54 runs in the 45th match of IPL 2025 at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
Lucknow won the toss and decided to bowl first, but Mumbai posted a strong total of 215 runs for 7 wickets. In reply, Lucknow could only score 161 runs and lost all their wickets. Ayush Badoni (35 runs) and Mitchell Marsh (34 runs) tried their best, but Mumbai’s bowlers, especially Jasprit Bumrah with 4 wickets and Trent Boult with 3 wickets, made sure of a big win. This was Mumbai’s fifth win in a row, boosting their chances for the playoffs.
In another exciting match, Royal Challengers Bangalore faced Delhi Capitals in a must-win game. Chasing 163 runs, RCB lost three quick wickets, but a solid partnership of 113 runs between Krunal Pandya and Virat Kohli saved the day.
Kohli scored a half-century before getting out, but Krunal stayed strong and finished the match for RCB. Earlier, Delhi struggled in their innings, managing only 162 runs, with good bowling performances from Josh Hazlewood and Krunal Pandya. This win keeps RCB’s hopes alive for making it to the IPL 2025 playoffs.
