In a decisive move to combat the menace of illegal colonizers, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has directed authorities to draft a comprehensive bill aimed at taking strict action against those involved in the unauthorized establishment of colonies in the state.
Presiding over a crucial meeting today, Chief Minister Mann emphasized the urgent need for a new law to crackdown on illegal colonizers, who deceive unsuspecting individuals by selling plots in unauthorized colonies. He highlighted the detrimental impact of such activities, where deceived residents find themselves struggling for basic facilities in these illicit settlements.
Chief Minister Mann expressed his commitment to putting an end to this exploitative practice, asserting that illegal colonizers, masquerading as legitimate developers, illegitimately amass wealth while leaving ordinary citizens to bear the consequences of their fraudulent actions.
To address this pressing issue, Mann instructed officials to expedite the drafting of the proposed bill, with the aim of presenting it before the upcoming session of the Punjab Legislative Assembly. The Chief Minister underscored that the legislation must be robust enough to deter and penalize those involved in the unauthorized sale of plots without proper approvals.
Mann highlighted the gravity of the situation, stating unequivocally that the state government will not tolerate the establishment of illegal colonies in Punjab. He affirmed that strict measures would be taken against all individuals engaged in this criminal activity, sending a clear message that such actions will face severe consequences.
The proposed law is expected to serve as a deterrent against illegal colonizers, aiming to prevent the formation of unauthorized colonies in Punjab. Chief Minister Mann stressed that the well-being of the common people is paramount, and the government is committed to ensuring that they are not exploited by unscrupulous elements seeking financial gains through illegal means.
The move comes in the wake of the recent decision by the state government to abolish certain conditions related to the registration of land/property, signaling a broader commitment to streamline processes and protect the interests of the citizens.
As the government gears up to tackle this issue head-on, Punjab anticipates a legislative framework that will not only safeguard the rights of its residents but also serve as a model for other regions grappling with similar challenges. Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s resolute stance against illegal colonizers signals a new era of governance dedicated to eradicating fraudulent practices and ensuring the lawful development of the state.
