During his four-day visit to the United States, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi made bold statements regarding the aftermath of India’s recent general election. Speaking at Georgetown University and another event in Herndon, Virginia, he claimed that the election results have shattered the “idea of Modi” and that the fear associated with Prime Minister Narendra Modi has dissipated entirely.
Rahul Gandhi highlighted that the ruling coalition led by the BJP collapsed almost immediately after the election results were announced. He criticized the lack of equal opportunities for all candidates to contest the Lok Sabha elections, suggesting that the ruling party’s power structure fell apart swiftly and unexpectedly.
Gandhi further elaborated that the fear, which had been meticulously built over the years through extensive planning and financial investment, vanished in an instant. He remarked that it took significant effort to construct this image of fear, but only a moment for it to disappear. Gandhi concluded by stating that the perception of Modi as a strong leader, symbolized by his “56-inch chest” and supposed divine connection, has now become a thing of the past, relegated to history.
