In a scathing critique, Rahul Gandhi has accused the government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, of orchestrating the world’s largest corruption scheme under the guise of electoral bonds. Gandhi alleges that the system, designed by Modi himself, operates as a weekly extortion mechanism targeting companies. The rules of this alleged “criminal game” are stark: contracts on one side, cuts on the other, and raids on one side followed by donations on the other.
Furthermore, Gandhi contends that investigative agencies such as the Enforcement Directorate (ED), Income Tax (IT), and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) are functioning as recovery agents for Modi’s government, eroding their independence and integrity. He asserts that once-respected institutions have been co-opted into serving the interests of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Gandhi laments the lack of media transparency on electoral bonds, urging citizens to see through the BJP’s facade. According to Gandhi, Modi has established a troubling precedent by submerging the government system in organized corruption, marking a dark chapter in India’s political landscape.
