Accompanied by his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, along with All India Congress Committee General Secretary KC Venugopal and other party stalwarts, Rahul submitted his nomination to the district officer of Wayanad, affirming his commitment to the constituency.

Arriving in Wayanad via helicopter, Rahul embarked on a roadshow from Kalpeta to Civil Station, engaging with enthusiastic supporters along the route. Expressing his deep-rooted connection to Wayanad, Rahul asserted that the district holds a special place in his heart, describing it as his home and its residents as his family. With a resolute spirit, he declared his readiness to champion the issues of Wayanad’s populace, drawing upon the region’s rich history and traditions as a source of inspiration.

Rahul Gandhi’s decision to contest from Wayanad sets the stage for a compelling electoral battle, pitting him against BJP state unit president K Surendran and CPI leader Annie Raja. With his landslide victory in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Rahul aims to secure another resounding mandate from the constituents of Wayanad.
