After the summer holidays, schools across Karnataka reopened on Monday. As the number of COVID-19 cases rises again in the state, many students in Bengaluru were seen wearing masks as a safety measure. In several schools across the state, students, teachers, and non-teaching staff were seen following safety protocols.
Masks were worn by not just students and teachers but also by parents who came to drop off their children. People maintained distance during conversations and avoided crowding. Schools have started functioning with caution due to the ongoing health concerns.
Government Issues Safety Guidelines
In view of the rising COVID-19 cases and the reopening of schools, the Karnataka government issued a circular on Friday. The circular advises parents not to send their children to school if they show symptoms like fever, cough, or cold. This measure is aimed at preventing the spread of infection among students and staff.
The Commissioner of Health and Family Welfare has asked both government and private schools to follow safety precautions strictly. The instructions include regular sanitization, mask usage, and keeping an eye on students showing any signs of illness.
Focus on Health and Safety
Teachers and school staff are also being told to be alert and report any student who feels unwell during school hours. While the schools are happy to welcome students back after the summer break, the main focus is on ensuring everyone’s safety.
Parents are also urged to remain cautious and cooperate with schools. These small steps can help prevent the further spread of COVID-19 and allow schools to continue functioning smoothly.
With teamwork between parents, schools, and the government, Karnataka is aiming to keep education on track while prioritizing the health of children and staff.
