In a harrowing incident that unfolded on Friday midnight, a potentially catastrophic accident was averted on Samrala Road in Khanna near Ludhiana. A truck laden with iron sheets burst into flames, prompting the quick actions of its driver who narrowly escaped the inferno.
The truck, en route from Gobindgarh to Jalandhar, had made a stop outside a petrol pump on Samrala Road. As the driver resumed the journey, disaster struck as the vehicle suddenly caught fire. Reacting swiftly, the driver leaped to safety, leaving the truck ablaze just meters away from the petrol pump.
The alarming scene stirred panic among petrol pump employees, recognizing the imminent danger posed by the flaming truck in such close proximity. The local fire brigade from Khanna rushed to the scene, grappling with the intense blaze for nearly an hour before successfully bringing it under control.
Authorities revealed that the truck, destined for Jalandhar via Nawanshahr road, had the potential for a catastrophic outcome had the fire spread to the nearby petrol pump. The prompt response of the fire brigade averted what could have been a major accident.
