Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar recently expressed concern over the delay in filing an FIR regarding bundles of burnt cash reportedly found at the residence of a High Court judge. He questioned whether the judge involved is being protected under some “category beyond the reach of law,” suggesting that no one should be above the law.

The Supreme Court has already ordered a House inquiry into the matter, highlighting its seriousness. The issue has raised many eyebrows across the country, as the delay in legal action raises questions about transparency and accountability within the judiciary.

Following the controversy, Justice Yashwant Varma has been transferred from the Delhi High Court to the Allahabad High Court. Although no official link between the transfer and the incident has been confirmed, it has fueled speculation about internal disciplinary actions.

The Vice President’s remarks reflect growing concerns about the impartial application of law, especially when high-ranking officials are involved. The case continues to attract public attention, with many hoping for a fair and transparent investigation. The incident has once again brought to light the need for judicial reforms and stronger mechanisms to uphold justice without fear or favour.
