The junior doctors began the hunger strike after the state government failed to meet their demands within a 24-hour deadline that ended at 8:30 pm on Saturday. They are seeking justice for their deceased colleague and better safety measures for women in the medical profession.

Several senior doctors, who have shown solidarity by attending the sit-in since Saturday night, are now planning to join the hunger strike alongside their junior colleagues. The ongoing protest reflects the deep concern among healthcare workers regarding the safety and protection of medical staff, particularly women, within hospital environments.

The demands for justice and improved safety have yet to be addressed by the authorities, but the hunger strike demonstrates the determination of the medical community to stand up against injustice and advocate for a safer, more secure workplace for all.
