Union Minister Amit Shah launched a sharp attack on the Congress during an election rally in Tohana, Haryana, accusing the party of being anti-Dalit. He claimed that the Congress has consistently insulted Dalit leaders, including Kumari Selja and Ashok Tanwar. Shah stated that the party has disrespected these leaders and has a history of undermining Dalit voices.

Shah also criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his comments on the reservation system. He asserted that only Prime Minister Narendra Modi can genuinely protect the quota system and ensure justice for Dalits and other marginalized communities.

As Haryana prepares for upcoming assembly elections, Shah’s remarks aimed to rally support for the BJP by portraying the Congress as indifferent to the rights of Dalits. He reiterated that under Modi’s leadership, the BJP is committed to safeguarding the reservation system, contrasting it with what he described as Congress’s history of neglecting Dalit concerns. Shah’s comments are seen as part of the BJP’s broader strategy to appeal to Dalit voters ahead of the elections.
