Sadh Surajpal, also known as ‘Bhole Baba’, appeared before the judicial commission investigating the tragic stampede that occurred during a satsang in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh. The stampede, which took place on July 2, resulted in the death of 121 people.
Bhole Baba recorded his statement today after being questioned for approximately two and a half hours by the commission. His lawyer, AP Singh, informed the media that the investigation is ongoing, and the commission has been given an extension of three months to complete its work.
AP Singh also revealed that 1,100 affidavits have been submitted in connection with the case. Due to the large number of affidavits, it will take additional time to verify all the information and statements provided.
The stampede, which occurred during a religious gathering, has led to widespread calls for accountability and justice for the victims and their families. The judicial commission was established to thoroughly investigate the causes of the incident and recommend actions to prevent similar tragedies in the future. The extension of the commission’s timeline highlights the complexity and scale of the case.
