The Congress party has announced its first list of 48 candidates for the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections. Key figures include Maharashtra Congress Chief Nana Patole, who will contest from Sakoli, and former Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan, who is running from Karad Deccan. Leader of Opposition in the Assembly, Vijay Wadettiwar, has been fielded from Brahmapuri.

Other prominent candidates include Balasaheb Thorat from Sangamner, Nitin Raut from Nagpur North, Jyoti Eknath Gaikwad from Dharavi, Amit Deshmukh from Latur City, and Dheeraj Deshmukh from Latur Rural. These selections reflect the Congress party’s strategy of fielding experienced leaders along with emerging names.
