Continuous heavy rainfall has created severe destruction across the region. A major incident was reported near village Nangalpur on the Pathankot-Jalandhar National Highway, where one side of the road has been closed due to damage. The heavy downpour has also caused flooding near the service lane close to the flyover, leaving the land submerged and posing a serious risk to nearby areas.
Nangalpur village itself is now under threat, as some houses are reported to be in danger of collapse. As a precautionary measure, the administration has shut down one side of the highway, especially the stretch coming from Jalandhar, to avoid accidents. Vehicles are being allowed from the other side only.
The situation has created panic among local residents. Roads are broken in many areas, bridges have suffered heavy damage, and people are struggling to move from one place to another. Villagers expressed their anger, saying that many governments came and went but no one paid attention to their problems. They fear that if the rain continues for the next few days, their houses will be destroyed and the national highway may also be completely washed away.
