Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati has made it clear that only someone who follows Kanshi Ram’s ideology can be the party’s true successor. She said that during her lifetime, anyone could become the leader of BSP if they fully dedicate themselves to the party and its mission.

Her statement comes after she recently expelled former MP Dr. Ashok Siddharth, who is also the father-in-law of her nephew and political heir, Akash Anand. Siddharth was removed on February 12 for alleged factionalism and anti-party activities. Akash Anand, 30, is currently BSP’s national coordinator and had been briefly removed from his position last year before being reinstated.

Mayawati reaffirmed her commitment to Kanshi Ram’s vision and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s principles. In a post on ‘X,’ she emphasized that the BSP prioritizes its movement over personal interests or relationships. She declared that as Kanshi Ram’s disciple, she would continue to fight for the empowerment of the Bahujan community, ensuring they break free from political and social struggles.

Mayawati’s remarks highlight her determination to keep BSP focused on its original mission, regardless of personal ties.
