Pakistan Army once again violated the ceasefire agreement by opening fire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch and Kupwara districts on Sunday night. According to army officials, this marked the fourth consecutive night that Pakistan fired without any provocation.
The firing comes at a time when tensions between India and Pakistan have escalated following last week’s terrorist attack in Pahalgam. Army spokespersons revealed that Pakistani posts across the LoC used small arms to fire at Indian positions between the night of April 27 and 28. The firing was reported in areas close to the LoC in Kupwara and Poonch districts.
The Indian Army responded promptly and effectively to the firing. Fortunately, no casualties or injuries were reported from the Indian side during the incident.
Security forces remain on high alert in the region as tensions continue to rise. Officials said that India is committed to maintaining peace along the LoC but will not hesitate to retaliate if provoked. The situation is being closely monitored to ensure the safety of civilians living near the border areas.
This repeated violation by Pakistan has drawn serious concern and is seen as an attempt to destabilize peace in the region.
