Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri emphasized the significance of the visit, stating that the invitation within three weeks of the new administration taking office reflects bipartisan support for India-US ties.

PM Modi and President Trump will meet at the White House on February 13 at 4 PM IST. Their discussions will focus on key issues such as trade, import tariffs, and defense cooperation. India seeks lower tariffs on exports, while the US is interested in expanding energy and military equipment sales to India.

The leaders will also discuss Indo-Pacific security, counterterrorism, and investment partnerships. Strengthening strategic ties in the region is expected to be a major part of the talks.

Before or after their discussions, both leaders will address the media in the Oval Office. This visit is expected to further enhance economic and strategic cooperation between the two nations.
