President Murmu’s visit follows in the footsteps of former Presidents APJ Abdul Kalam and Ram Nath Kovind, who also visited the Siachen base camp in April 2004 and May 2018, respectively. This interaction underscores the continued support and recognition of the nation’s military personnel who operate in the harsh and high-altitude conditions of the Siachen Glacier.

During her visit, President Murmu is expected to boost the morale of the soldiers and acknowledge their unwavering dedication to safeguarding the nation’s borders. This visit is part of the President’s ongoing engagement with India’s defense forces, showcasing the importance of the Siachen region in national security and the continued valor of the Indian Army.
