Punjab Roadways Panbus/PRTC Contract Workers Union has announced a statewide protest on September 10. The union has decided to keep all bus stands in Punjab closed from 12 noon to 2 pm. This decision comes in response to the state government’s failure to release the salaries of contractual employees.

Union members said that thousands of workers are suffering because their wages have not been paid on time. Many families depend on these salaries, and delays have created serious financial problems. The workers believe that despite repeated appeals, the authorities have not taken their demands seriously.

On the protest day, bus services will remain affected during the two-hour shutdown. Passengers are likely to face difficulties, but the workers said this step was necessary to draw the government’s attention.

During the protest, the employees will also hold demonstrations at different bus stands. The union leaders have planned to announce their next action plan on the same day. They warned that if the government continues to ignore their demands, the agitation will be intensified across Punjab.

The workers stressed that they are not against the public but are fighting for their basic right to timely wages.
