Today, Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha, accused the BJP of intentionally creating communal tensions in Goa. He claimed that the ruling party’s actions will be challenged, as people in Goa and across India are rejecting this “divisive agenda.” He emphasized that Goa’s charm lies in its natural beauty and the warmth of its people. However, he expressed concern that this harmony is being threatened under the BJP government.
Rahul mentioned that a former RSS leader is inciting tensions among Christians and that organizations linked to the Sangh are calling for an economic boycott of Muslims. He criticized the lack of action against these individuals, suggesting they are receiving support from the highest levels of the BJP. He also highlighted that the BJP’s strategy includes exploiting environmentally sensitive areas, which goes against environmental regulations and harms Goa’s natural and social heritage.
In a separate Facebook post, Rahul Gandhi called for greater participation of women in Parliament and Legislative Assemblies. He encouraged women to join his party’s ‘Shakti Abhiyan,’ aimed at increasing women’s involvement in politics.
