Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha and senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will visit flood-affected areas of Punjab on Today. He will reach Amritsar airport around 9:30 in the morning, from where he will proceed to the affected areas along with party leaders. His first stop will be Ramdas in Amritsar district, where he will interact with local people and assess the situation. Rahul Gandhi is also scheduled to pay his respects at Gurdwara Baba Budha Ji before continuing his visit.
Later, around 11:45 a.m., he will move towards Gurdaspur district and meet farmers in Dera Baba Nanak. After that, he will visit other flood-hit areas including Makora, Dina Nagar, and nearby villages around 1:45 p.m. The purpose of the visit is to directly understand the problems faced by flood victims and extend support from the Congress party.
Considering the high-profile visit, strict security arrangements have been made in both Amritsar and Gurdaspur districts. The Gurdaspur district magistrate has also banned the use of drones in the area to maintain safety. Rahul Gandhi’s visit is expected to highlight the plight of affected families and press for relief measures.
