Veteran industrialist and former chairman of the Tata group, Ratan Tata, passed away at the age of 86 on Wednesday night in Mumbai. He had been admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in South Mumbai for the past few days, where he was receiving treatment. Tata Sons Chairman N. Chandrasekaran confirmed the news and described Ratan Tata as his “friend, mentor, and guide.”
Ratan Tata was one of the most respected business leaders in India, known for his vision and contributions to the growth of the Tata group. His leadership left a lasting impact on Indian industry, making the Tata group a global name.
Following the news of his death, several prominent leaders and public figures expressed their grief. Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared his condolences, calling Tata a remarkable individual who contributed immensely to India’s progress. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, and businessman Gautam Adani also paid tribute to the late industrialist.
Ratan Tata’s death marks the end of an era for Indian business and industry. He will be remembered not only for his business acumen but also for his philanthropy and efforts to uplift society.
