On Wednesday, the Special People’s Representatives Court ordered a police investigation into Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in a land allotment case linked to the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA). Special court judge Santosh Jaganan Bhatt issued the order a day after the Karnataka High Court rejected Siddaramaiah’s plea challenging the approval given by Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot to conduct an inquiry against him.
The case revolves around allegations of benami transactions in the allotment of 14 sites by MUDA to Siddaramaiah’s wife, Parvati, in a prime area of Mysore. The High Court’s dismissal of Siddaramaiah’s petition also lifted the stay previously imposed on the special court from taking any further action.
Following the High Court’s decision, the special court moved forward with its orders to initiate an investigation into the matter. This development marks a significant turn in the case, with further scrutiny of the land transactions involving the chief minister’s family
