Seven tourists died and 10 suffered injuries as a tempo traveller fell into a gorge in Himachal Pradesh’s Kullu district on Sunday evening, a local MLA said.
The BJP MLA from Banjar, Surender Shourie, streamed a video on Facebook Live via his social media account on Monday at around 12.45 am, informing people about the accident that occurred near Ghiyaghi in Banjar subdivision.
According to police, the vehicle carrying 17 people was on way to Banjar from Jalori pass when the mishap occurred.
Near Ghiyaghi, the driver of the Tempo Traveller lost control over the vehicle and it rolled down the gorge.
According to Kullu SP Gurdev Chand Sharma, seven persons died on the spot and 10 sustained injuries. The injured were rushed to Banjar hospital.
Chief Medical Officer, Kullu, Dr Sushil Chander said six injured have been admitted to Banjar hospital, while four critically injured have been referred to Regional Hospital at Kullu.
Doctors and paramedical staff have been deployed in emergency services at Banjar and Kullu hospitals to provide better medical care to the injured victims and there condition is stable.
Kullu Deputy Commissioner Ashutosh Garg said all possible help is being provided to the injured. The families of deceased is being informed about the incident.
The injured victims are Jai Agarwal of Gwalior, MP; Ishan of Faridabad, Haryana; Abhinaye Singh of Lucknow; Rahul Goswami of Hisar, Haryana; Rishav of New Delhi; Ajay of Ghaziabad, UP; Lakshay of Jaipur; Nistha of Kanpur; Sateja of Hisar.
