Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, after being granted bail by the Supreme Court on Friday in a corruption case related to the alleged excise policy scam, visited the Hanuman temple at Connaught Place to seek blessings. The case, filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), accused Kejriwal of involvement in irregularities concerning Delhi’s excise policy.
Accompanied by his wife, Sunita Kejriwal, and key leaders of his party, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), including former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, and Delhi minister Saurabh Bhardwaj, Kejriwal participated in the religious ceremony. The visit to the temple came soon after the Supreme Court granted him bail, offering a moment of relief amidst the ongoing investigation.
Kejriwal’s visit was seen as an act of faith and gratitude, reflecting his belief in Lord Hanuman. His team, including close aides and political associates, stood by him in a show of solidarity, as the legal case continues to unfold.
The excise policy case has been a significant challenge for the Delhi government, with the opposition raising questions on transparency and governance.
