The Congress party released its manifesto for Jammu and Kashmir this evening, focusing on the restoration of statehood to the region. However, the manifesto does not mention Article 370, which was revoked in 2019.
Key promises in the manifesto include financial assistance of Rs 4,000 per year to landless farmers and a monthly allowance of Rs 3,500 for one year to every unemployed youth. Additionally, the Congress pledged to increase the ration provided to poor families from 5 kg to 11 kg, aiming to support low-income households more effectively.
The manifesto reflects the party’s vision for economic relief and statehood restoration, which are key issues in the region. The Congress has positioned these promises as part of its broader efforts to address the challenges faced by people in Jammu and Kashmir, especially in the aftermath of the state’s reorganization.
