Trump’s New Statement
Former U.S. President Donald Trump has said that America seems to have lost India and Russia to what he called a “dangerous China.” His fresh statement came at a time when trade ties between the United States and India are passing through one of the most difficult phases in the last two decades. Trump posted his views on Truth Social, his own social media platform.
Modi, Xi, and Putin Meeting Got Attention
Trump’s statement also comes just days after a warm meeting took place at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit in Tianjin, China. At this summit, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chinese President Xi Jinping, and Russian President Vladimir Putin were seen having friendly discussions. This moment grabbed global attention, and Trump linked it with his belief that India and Russia are moving closer to China.
Trump’s Message on Truth Social
On Truth Social, Trump wrote: “It looks like we have lost India and Russia to the most secretive and dangerous China. May their future together be long and prosperous.” His words clearly showed concern that India and Russia might prefer China over the United States.
Trade Tensions Between U.S. and India
Relations between India and the U.S. have become tense after Trump raised tariffs on Indian goods to 50 percent. India expressed shock and said it was unfair that only Indian products were targeted. Surprisingly, Trump did not raise tariffs on Chinese products even though China is the biggest buyer of Russian crude oil. This has made India question Washington’s trade decisions.
Harsh Words from U.S. Officials
In recent days, several American officials, including White House trade adviser Peter Navarro, have used harsh language against India. This has also added to the negative atmosphere between New Delhi and Washington.
Trump’s Accusations Against China
Trump accused Chinese President Xi Jinping of working with Russian President Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un to create a conspiracy against the United States. His comments were made on the same day when several world leaders attended China’s Victory Day Parade, showing Beijing’s growing global influence.
Trump Plans to Talk with Putin
Meanwhile, Trump said he would soon talk with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin. He gave this reply during a dinner with technology company CEOs when a journalist asked him about his next steps after speaking with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Trump responded, “Yes, I will talk. We are having a very good conversation.”
Dinner with Tech Leaders at White House
The dinner took place at the White House with several top tech leaders, including Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg. First Lady Melania Trump was also present. Earlier in the day, Melania led a meeting of the new Artificial Intelligence (AI) Education Task Force. The event was planned for the Rose Garden, but heavy rain forced it indoors.
Zuckerberg’s Investment Promise
During the meeting, Trump asked the technology leaders to share about their companies and future investments in America. Zuckerberg said that his company would invest around $600 billion in the U.S. economy by 2028, showing strong support for American business growth.
