In anticipation of the pivotal meeting with the central government committee, prominent farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher has called upon Prime Minister Narendra Modi to engage in direct discussions with the three key ministers comprising the committee. Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Arjun Munda, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, and Minister of State for Home Nityananda Rai are scheduled to convene with farmers’ representatives at 5 pm to address various concerns, notably the demand for a legislation ensuring a minimum support price (MSP) for crops.
Speaking to reporters at the Shambhu border, Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee General Secretary Pandher emphasized the urgency of accepting the protesting farmers’ demands. The farmers’ issues have sparked nationwide attention, with the upcoming meeting poised to play a pivotal role in shaping the resolution path. The focal point remains on securing a fair MSP for crops, reflecting the broader agricultural challenges faced by the farming community.
