Ruldu Singh Mansa, the influential leader of the United Kisan Morcha and state president of the Punjab Kisan Union, announced that a crucial Mahapanchayat meeting is scheduled for March 14 at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi to address farmers’ demands against the central government. However, he revealed that a preliminary gathering will take place in Ludhiana on March 11, involving national leaders of the United Farmers’ Front.
Mansa expressed confidence in securing permission from the Delhi administration for the Mahapanchayat, anticipating approval in the coming days. Farmers from Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and other states are set to embark on convoys to Delhi via trains and buses starting March 12.
Undeterred by potential disapproval for Ramlila Maidan, Mansa asserted that the Mahapanchayat would proceed, with a final decision expected during the United Kisan Morche meeting on March 11 in Ludhiana.
Simultaneously, Mansa voiced strong opposition to the BJP’s decision to nominate Ajay Mishra Teni for the Lok Sabha elections from Lakhimpur Khiri. He criticized the party for choosing a figure allegedly linked to actions against farmers, suggesting it amounted to a breach of trust with the agricultural community
