At the Kisan Bhavan in Chandigarh, the United Kisan Morcha Punjab unveiled a questionnaire for Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidates contesting in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Crafted by a five-member committee formed by ‘Syukta Kisan Morcha’ Punjab, the questionnaire aims to address concerns regarding BJP’s policies, perceived as pro-corporate, anti-farmer labor, anti-federalism, and anti-democratic.
Speaking to the press, farmer leaders emphasized the importance of holding political candidates accountable and exercising democratic rights. They asserted that inviting BJP candidates to villages or cities to seek votes presents an opportunity for farmers’ organizations and the public to raise pertinent questions peacefully.
The released questionnaire serves as a tool for farmers and common citizens to engage with BJP candidates, urging transparency and accountability in political discourse. With the upcoming elections, the initiative underscores the proactive involvement of grassroots movements in shaping the electoral narrative and advocating for the interests of farmers and the wider community.
