In addition to the Lok Sabha polls, elections to the Legislative Assemblies of four states – Sikkim, Odisha, Arunachal Pradesh, and Andhra Pradesh – were also announced, adding further depth to the democratic process.

Chief Election Commissioner Rajeev Kumar revealed that an impressive 97 crore registered voters, including 47.1 crore women, will have their say in shaping the nation’s future. With over 10.5 lakh polling stations and 55 lakh Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) poised for deployment, the logistical scale of the electoral machinery is immense.

The announcement marks the implementation of the Model Election Code, ensuring a fair and transparent electoral process. As anticipation builds and political campaigns gain momentum, all eyes are on the upcoming elections, poised to shape the trajectory of India’s governance for years to come.
