Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra has lodged a formal complaint with the Ombudsman against SEBI chief Madhabi Puri Buch. In her complaint, Moitra has called for a preliminary investigation by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) or the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), following which she demands the registration of an FIR and a thorough inquiry.
Moitra took to social media platform ‘X’ to share screenshots of both the electronic and physical copies of her complaint. She wrote, “My complaint against Madhabi Puri Buch has been filed electronically and physically in the Lokpal. The Ombudsman should refer it to CBI/ED for a preliminary investigation within 30 days and then register an FIR for a full investigation.”
She also emphasized the need for every individual involved to be summoned and for each link to be properly scrutinized. In her post, Moitra tagged Congress leaders Jairam Ramesh and Pawan Khera, signaling a broad political interest in the matter. The case now awaits further action from the Ombudsman, who will decide whether the ED or CBI will take up the investigation.
