Leader of Opposition in Bihar Assembly, Tejashwi Yadav, has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to focus on fixing the country’s economy instead of worrying about the future of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD).
Tejashwi’s remarks came in response to Modi’s speech after the BJP’s victory in the Delhi Assembly elections. Modi had said that the “selfish politics” of the Congress would harm its allies.
Reacting to Modi’s statement, Tejashwi said, “Congress or RJD are not going to sink. However, the economy is sinking.” He accused the BJP-led central government of neglecting Bihar and treating it unfairly.
Tejashwi criticized the “double engine government” of the BJP and JD(U), saying that Bihar has not received the support it deserves. He urged Modi to grant special category status to Bihar to boost its development.
He said the Prime Minister should be more concerned about the country’s growth rather than targeting opposition parties. “Development should be the priority, not politics,” he added.
