The Delhi High Court has granted two days of ‘custodial parole’ to Baramulla MP Abdul Rashid Sheikh, also known as Rashid Engineer, to attend the ongoing Parliament session.

Justice Vikas Mahajan ruled that Rashid can attend the Lok Sabha session on February 11 and 13. However, his parole comes with strict conditions. He will be escorted by armed police personnel to Parliament House and will be taken back to jail after the session.

The court imposed several restrictions on Rashid during his parole. These include a ban on using cellphones and other security measures. The parole is only for attending Parliament, and he cannot meet anyone else or move freely.

Under custodial parole, a prisoner is escorted by police to the place of visit and is not allowed any independent movement. This ensures that the prisoner does not violate any legal or security conditions.

With this decision, MP Rashid will be able to participate in the parliamentary proceedings, while remaining under strict supervision.
