The Union Home Minister chaired two important meetings today in Jammu and Kashmir to review the region’s development projects and security situation. During these meetings, he appreciated the efforts of the security agencies in maintaining peace in the Union Territory.
The first meeting was held at the Raj Bhavan, where the progress of ongoing development projects was thoroughly reviewed. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and senior officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Jammu and Kashmir administration were present. Interestingly, former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also attended this development review meeting.
The meeting lasted for two hours, and detailed discussions were held on various infrastructure and welfare projects currently underway in the region. The Home Minister emphasized the importance of timely completion of these projects to improve the lives of the people in Jammu and Kashmir.
Following this, a separate meeting was conducted to assess the security situation in the Union Territory. This meeting lasted for nearly two and a half hours and included top officials from the police, army, and other security agencies. However, Omar Abdullah did not attend the security review meeting.
Officials present briefed the Home Minister about the current situation, recent developments, and the coordinated efforts of various forces to ensure peace and stability in the region.
The Home Minister praised the security forces for their commitment and hard work in maintaining law and order. He also directed them to remain alert and increase vigilance in sensitive areas to prevent any untoward incidents.
These meetings reflect the Centre’s ongoing focus on both development and security in Jammu and Kashmir, aiming to bring lasting peace and progress to the region.
