Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated today that the visit of Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to India has further strengthened the strategic partnership between India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The remarks came after Modi met with the influential UAE leader in New Delhi.
In a post shared on social media, the Prime Minister expressed his happiness over the meeting, calling it a significant step in advancing India-UAE relations. He emphasized that Dubai has played a crucial role in enhancing the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two nations.
Sheikh Hamdan arrived in India for a special two-day visit, underlining the growing diplomatic and economic ties between the two countries. Modi said, “It was a pleasure to meet Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. His visit reaffirms our deep friendship and paves the way for stronger cooperation in the future.”
During the visit, India’s Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also held a separate meeting with Sheikh Hamdan, who is also the Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister of the UAE. Singh described the meeting as fruitful and expressed India’s interest in working together with Gulf countries on joint defence production and co-development projects.
Both leaders discussed possibilities for collaboration in military technologies and equipment, expressing a shared vision for enhancing defence ties.
In another key meeting, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met with the Dubai Crown Prince and appreciated the growing cooperation between the two nations. He emphasized the importance of sustained bilateral engagement in various sectors, including trade, investment, and security.
The Crown Prince’s visit is seen as a significant diplomatic event that could open new avenues for partnership between India and the UAE in defence, technology, and economic development.
