The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) of India has said that it is in touch with Indian students in the United States who are facing visa-related problems. These include the cancellation of F-1 student visas and issues related to visa extension. The update was shared by MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal.
His statement came after reports emerged that several Indian students had their F-1 visas cancelled by US authorities. Responding to these concerns, Jaiswal stated, “We are aware that some Indian students have been in communication with the US government regarding their F-1 visa status. We are currently looking into the matter.”
Jaiswal also mentioned that the Indian Embassy and Consulates in the US are in contact with the affected students to offer help and guidance. “Our embassy and consulates are in touch with students and are providing them with necessary assistance,” he added.
The Indian government is closely monitoring the situation and is committed to supporting its students abroad. The issue has raised concern among many students and families back home who are unsure about their future plans in the US.
The F-1 visa is a non-immigrant visa that allows foreign students to study in accredited US institutions. Any problem with this visa can directly affect a student’s education and stay in the country.
Indian officials are expected to take up the matter with their US counterparts to seek clarity and resolution. Meanwhile, students are advised to stay in touch with Indian consular services and follow the latest updates.
The government has assured that it stands with its students and will take all necessary steps to protect their interests.
