The 35th match of IPL 2025 between Gujarat Titans and Delhi Capitals was played today at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Gujarat Titans secured a solid victory, defeating Delhi Capitals by 7 wickets in a thrilling high-scoring encounter.
Gujarat won the toss and chose to bowl first. Batting first, Delhi Capitals posted a strong total of 203 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their 20 overs. Several players contributed with the bat for Delhi. Axar Patel scored 39 runs, Ashutosh Sharma made 37, Tristan Stubbs and Karun Nair both added 31 runs each, KL Rahul chipped in with 28, and Abishek Porel made 18 runs.
In the bowling department for Gujarat, Prasidh Krishna was the standout performer, taking 4 important wickets. Mohammed Siraj, Arshad Khan, Ishant Sharma, and Ravisrinivasan also picked up a wicket each.
Chasing a big target of 204 runs, Gujarat Titans looked confident from the start. The chase was anchored by a brilliant knock from Jos Buttler, who smashed 97 runs and narrowly missed his century. Sherfane Rutherford played a valuable role with 43 runs, while Sai Sudharsan contributed 36 runs. Captain Shubman Gill made 7 runs before getting run out by Karun Nair, and Rahul Tewatia added 11 runs to finish the chase.
Gujarat completed the run chase in 19.2 overs, finishing at 204/3 and winning the match by 7 wickets. For Delhi, Kuldeep Yadav and Mukesh Kumar took one wicket each.
With this win, Gujarat Titans gained important points and boosted their position in the IPL 2025 standings. Jos Buttler was the star of the match with his superb innings.
