Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has made a strong accusation against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, claiming that during recent military tensions between India and Pakistan, Modi surrendered under pressure following a phone call from former US President Donald Trump. Speaking at a party convention in Bhopal, Rahul said that Congress leaders in the past, including Indira Gandhi, stood firm even in the face of threats from world powers.
He referred to the 1971 India-Pakistan war, saying that despite America sending its powerful Seventh Fleet, then-Prime Minister Indira Gandhi did not back down. “She stood her ground and did what was best for the country,” he said. “Trump made just one phone call and Modi surrendered. This is the difference between the Congress and BJP-RSS,” Rahul stated, adding that BJP and RSS leaders have a history of surrendering under pressure since India’s independence.
Launching Congress’s “Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan”, Rahul Gandhi said the ongoing fight is not just political but ideological. “On one side is the Congress, which believes in the Constitution and equality, and on the other side is BJP-RSS, who want to destroy it,” he claimed.
Rahul also accused the BJP of taking control over all institutions in the country and placing its loyal people in key positions. “They are slowly strangling the country,” he said. According to him, the first major battle is to protect the Constitution, and the second is to ensure social justice.
He praised Congress’s past leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Nehru, and Patel for never bowing to powerful nations and always standing for truth and justice.
