According to recent reports, COVID-19 cases are once again increasing in India, especially in Punjab. This new wave has become a matter of concern for the people of the state. The virus is turning dangerous again, and new cases are being reported continuously.

As of now, the number of active COVID-19 cases in Punjab has reached 40. So far, 2 people have lost their lives due to the virus. Just a day ago, 3 new COVID-19 cases were reported from Ludhiana alone. Out of the total 40 active cases in the state, 16 are from Ludhiana. Due to the rising number of cases, the Health Department of Punjab has issued strict guidelines to civil surgeons in all districts. They have been asked to prepare special COVID wards in hospitals and ensure the availability of oxygen cylinders and other important resources. All necessary precautions and arrangements must be made in advance.

Along with this, instructions have been given to spread awareness among the public. People should be encouraged to follow safety measures like wearing masks in crowded places, washing hands regularly, and maintaining social distance.

Though the current number of cases is not very high, the health officials are taking it seriously to avoid a larger outbreak. The past experience with COVID-19 has taught us that timely action is important to control its spread.

Citizens are advised to stay alert and follow the safety protocols. Early symptoms like fever, cough, sore throat, and breathing problems should not be ignored, and medical help should be taken immediately.
