Flood situation in Ludhiana’s eastern area has become serious due to the fast flow of water in Sutlej River near Sasrali village. The district administration has issued an advisory asking people to move to safe places and keep their important documents safe. According to Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain, the water pressure near Sasrali is dangerous. Although efforts are being made to strengthen the embankment, if it breaks, villages like Sasrali, Bant, Rawat, Hawas, Seeza, Boothgarh and Mangli may get affected.

The administration has advised people to stay alert and watch the situation closely. Families living in low-lying areas or single-floor houses have been told to shift to safer places. People are also asked to keep documents and valuables in waterproof bags. Elderly people, children and patients should be moved first to safe locations.
For public safety, the administration has set up relief centres at different places such as Rahon Road, Gaonsgarh, Chandigarh Road, Mundian, Tibba Road, Kailash Nagar, Sasrali village Radha Soami Centre, Khassi Kalan, Bhukhri and Mattewada. Helpline numbers have also been released:
Flood Control Room – 0161-2433100 and Police Helpline – 112.
The situation is still sensitive, and people are requested to follow instructions for their own safety.
