According to available information, a trolley heading towards Pathankot suffered a mechanical failure when its axle broke near the Tanda railway crossing. The incident took place around 8:00 am and caused major disruption to both road and rail traffic in the area.
As soon as the axle broke on the railway track, the heavily loaded trolley came to a halt in the middle of the railway line. More than 50 people gathered at the spot and tried to push the trolley forward, but due to its heavy load, it could not be moved. The gateman immediately informed senior railway officials about the situation.

Because the trolley remained stuck on the railway line for nearly one and a half hours, railway authorities were forced to block the track. During this period, the railway gate remained closed and the movement of trains was completely stopped, causing inconvenience to passengers. To reduce the load, labourers began unloading bricks from the trolley.
Meanwhile, the trolley driver arranged a crane to remove the vehicle from the railway crossing. With the help of the crane, the trolley was finally shifted to the side of the gate, allowing the railway line to be cleared. After this, train services on the route were resumed and normal movement was restored.
The trolley driver said that he was travelling from Monga to Pathankot Chowk in Jalandhar. As he reached the Tanda crossing, the axle of the trolley suddenly broke on the railway track. Fortunately, no loss of life or injuries were reported in the incident. He informed the trolley owners about the breakdown immediately.
On receiving information, teams from the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and railway officials reached the spot and started an investigation into the incident.
