The triumphant release of Aam Aadmi Party’s national convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal from Delhi’s Tihar Jail, following the interim bail granted by the Supreme Court, has reignited fervor within the party, particularly in Punjab. Punjab Power Minister Harbhajan Singh E.T.oh, buoyed by Kejriwal’s impending visit to the state, expressed optimism and rallied AAP volunteers, envisioning a resounding electoral triumph.
Welcoming Kejriwal’s release as a beacon of hope, E.T.oh denounced the Modi government’s alleged abuse of power and persecution of opposition leaders through fabricated charges and misuse of government agencies. He condemned the erosion of democratic values under the current regime and anticipated a decisive voter backlash in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Asserting AAP’s electoral dominance in Punjab, E.T.oh predicted a sweeping victory with all 13 seats secured, drawing parallels to the party’s stunning performance in the 2022 assembly elections. Taking a swipe at the Akali Dal, he dismissed the party as hollow and accused it of presiding over an era of rampant corruption and stagnation during its tenure in power.
Highlighting AAP’s governance achievements, E.T.oh lauded the administration’s provision of 600 units of free electricity to Punjab residents, resulting in a remarkable turnaround for the state’s electricity board. He underscored the government’s commitment to public welfare, citing the acquisition of a private thermal plant as evidence of proactive measures to safeguard public interests.
