A disturbing incident unfolded in Kimewali village of Mallanwala town, shedding light on a harrowing family dispute that escalated into violence. Gurmeet Singh, son of Major Singh and a resident of Kimewali village, recounted a harrowing ordeal at the Civil Hospital Zira, detailing a confrontation that resulted in his mother, Pal Kaur (80), sustaining serious injuries.
According to Gurmeet Singh, tensions within the family reached a breaking point due to his elder brother Manjit Singh’s alleged drug addiction. Manjit’s persistent demands for money to fuel his addiction and ensuing conflicts culminated in a tragic turn of events. In a shocking turn, Manjit reportedly brandished a firearm, resulting in gunfire directed at Gurmeet and their mother.
While Gurmeet narrowly escaped unscathed, his mother bore the brunt of the attack, sustaining severe injuries. Rushed to Civil Hospital Zira for urgent medical attention, Pal Kaur received initial treatment before being referred to Guru Gobind Singh Medical College for further care.
The Mallanwala police station swiftly responded to the incident, registering a case and launching an intensive search for the accused. As investigations unfold, the community grapples with the aftermath of this distressing incident, highlighting the tragic consequences of familial discord and substance abuse.
