In a show of solidarity, around 200 Sikhs gathered outside the BJP office today, protesting against the alleged derogatory remarks made by BJP leader Shubhendu Adhikari towards IPS officer Jaspreet Singh. The officer claims Adhikari labeled him a ‘Khalistani.’
Adhikari, accompanied by BJP leader Agnimitra Pal, denied the allegations, asserting that Jaspreet Singh was neglecting his duties. However, both leaders rejected any party member using the term ‘Khalistani’ against the IPS officer.
Agnimitra Pal insisted, “No one has abused them, and no one has used the word ‘Khalistani.'” The conflicting narratives have intensified tensions, prompting the Sikh community to voice their support for the beleaguered IPS officer.
The protest underscores the growing concern over the alleged politicization of law enforcement, with the Sikh community demanding a thorough investigation into the matter. As the controversy unfolds, it raises questions about the delicate balance between political discourse and the integrity of public servants.
