Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal has taken legal action against Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, issuing a stern warning of a criminal defamation case if an apology is not tendered within seven days. Badal’s move comes in response to allegations made by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader regarding his personal business affairs.

In a formal legal notice sent to Bhagwant Mann, Sukhbir Singh Badal demanded a written apology within the stipulated timeframe for the disparaging remarks made against his personal business ventures. Badal emphasized that failure to comply with the demand would result in the initiation of criminal defamation proceedings against Mann.

Expressing his stance, Sukhbir Singh Badal stated, “I have sent a legal notice to Bhagwant Maan, in which he has been asked to apologize in writing within 7 days for making allegations against my personal business.” He underscored that any reluctance to apologize would lead to the AAP leader facing the legal consequences of a criminal defamation case.

The escalation of tensions between the SAD and AAP highlights the volatile political landscape in Punjab, with both parties engaging in a war of words ahead of crucial political developments. As the deadline approaches, the outcome of this legal confrontation remains to be seen, shaping the dynamics of Punjab’s political arena.
